What we collect
If you create an account we store your email, name, role and sign-in records, and what you add: profile, photo, skills, availability, work history, company, jobs, messages, medals and settings. Crew control whether their profile is discoverable, whether recruitment agencies on Racefolk can see it, and whether their crew card is public. When you use a form we store what you enter: name, email, optional phone, role or team, series, location and your message, plus the page or link you came from. When you buy a membership, Stripe processes your payment details; we receive your name, business name, email, phone and billing details from Stripe, never your full card number.
Analytics without cookies
Apart from the sign-in cookies described on our cookies page, we don’t use cookies. We count page views and a few actions (such as a form sent or a checkout started) together with the page and the campaign link you arrived from. We don’t use cookies, advertising trackers or fingerprinting, and we don’t store your IP address with these counts. Your browser keeps the campaign link for the visit only.
Why we use it
To reply to you, set up early access, match teams with crew, run memberships you buy (contract), keep the service secure (legitimate interests), and send you updates you asked for (consent, which you can withdraw).
Who helps us
Supabase (database and sign-in, London region), Vercel (website hosting), Resend (emails), Stripe (payments) and Anthropic (reading a CV to fill in your profile, only when you ask) process data for us under their data processing terms. Anthropic doesn’t use your CV to train its AI. We don’t sell personal data.
Your CV
If you upload a CV, it’s private to you. Teams can only open it if you switch on sharing, and then only teams you’re already talking to. When you ask us to fill in your profile from it, the CV is sent to Anthropic’s Claude to suggest details, which you check before anything is saved. You can replace or delete your CV at any time, and it’s deleted straight away if you delete your account.
The Racefolk app
The iPhone and Android apps use the same account and data as the website. With your permission, the app uses your camera or photo library for the one profile photo you choose, your rough location once if you tap “Use my location”, and your phone’s notification service to tell you about new messages and jobs that fit you (we store a notification token for your phone and delete it when you sign out). The app has no advertising and no analytics, and it doesn’t track you across other apps or websites. Payments aren’t taken in the app.
How long we keep it
Early-access and contact details: until you ask us to delete them, or 24 months after our last contact. Membership and payment records: as long as the law requires for accounting (normally six years).
Deleting your account
You can delete your account from Account & privacy at any time. Your profile, photo, availability and work history are removed straight away; messages you exchanged and records of agreed work stay visible to the other person, with your name replaced.
Your rights
You can ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction or a copy of your data, object to processing, or withdraw consent, by using the contact form. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
